This page explains what information Triviaholics collects when you play, host or buy a game, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, name or display name, and your Player ID when you create a player or host account.
- Location — the ZIP code you give us, so we can show local tournaments and leaderboards.
- Game activity — the games you play, your answers, scores, points, badges and tournament entries.
- Device ID — a small cookie with a random ID, so we can count plays and remember a device that plays without an account. It does not contain your name or email.
- Where you came from — the ad, email or link that brought you to the site (for example an ad source tag in the link).
- Email activity — whether an email we sent you was opened and which links were clicked.
- Purchases — what you bought and when. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To run the games, keep score, and show leaderboards and tournament results.
- To send the emails you asked for, such as weekly trivia, tournament alerts and receipts.
- To understand which games, ads and emails work, so we can improve Triviaholics.
- To keep the site safe and stop cheating or abuse.
Leaderboards and display names
Your display name, score and city or state may appear on public leaderboards and tournament boards. Your email address is never shown publicly. You can change your display name in your player account.
Emails and unsubscribing
We only send marketing emails to people who opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn off weekly trivia or tournament alerts at any time. We may still send emails about purchases or your account.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with services that help us run Triviaholics:
- our payment processor, to take payments;
- our email provider, to deliver emails;
- our customer contact system (CRM), to keep track of hosts, venues and players who asked to hear from us;
- our hosting provider, which stores the site and its data.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and game history while your account is active, so your points, badges and stats stay with you. You can ask us to delete your account and personal information at any time.
Children
Triviaholics is meant for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
